Quick Itinerary Overview.

Explore the dramatic landscape of the scenic central kenya highlands as you drive to Mount Kenya. This scenic drive and walking safari as you hike through the thick Mt Kenya forest offers an intimate experience with the local culture flora and fauna of this magnificent Mountain Kenya.As you trek, the local guides leading the way and preparing meals. This leaves you free to soak up the stunning scenery, look out for wildlife ,flora ,fauna and birds while taking amazing pictures , sip on sundowners and simply relax.

The Sirimon Route.
The Sirimon route is the least used by mountain climbers of the three main routes, but it features the most gradual ascent profile and best for acclimatisation options.
The route passes through very impressive Yellowwood forests in the lower reaches and features abundant wildlife and beautiful alpine scenery higher up.
The Austrian Hut and Point Lenana are reached from the head of Mackinder's Valley via Simba Col.

 

Itinerary for this Tour

4 Days Direct Safari to Mt Kenya Climbing (Sirimon Route)

DAY I: Nairobi-Nanyuki.

Departure from Nairobi is at 09:00 am heading north towards central highlands to  Nanyuki and stop at the Equator briefly. Continue to Nanyuki where you check in your budget hotel. The afternoon is spent acclimatise for the hike. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 2: Nanyuki-Old Moses
After breakfast, vehicle transfer to Sirimon gate and hike to Old Moses camp for overnight (3300m), 5 to 6 hrs. Hikes, dinner and overnight at the old Moses camp.

DAY 3: Old Moses-Ship tons.
After breakfast hike to Ship ton’s camp (4200m) for overnight (5 to 6 hrs. hikes) dinner and overnight at the ship tons camp.

DAY 4: Ship tons-Point Lenana-Nairobi
Wake up early at 2.00 am attempt point Lenana (4985m) at 03:00 hrs. And descend directly to ship tons camp for breakfast then proceed to sirimon park gate to connect your transfer back to Nairobi arriving late in the afternoon.
